1 1/2 cups cold water

3/4 cup uncooked white rice

2 cups milk divided

1/3 cup white sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

One egg, beaten

2/3 cup golden raisins

One tablespoon butter

Pour the water into a pot and simmer at medium-high heat. Stir in rice. Reduce temperature to low, then cover and cook until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been taken up approximately 20 minutes.

Combine cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and 1 1/2 cups of milk along with salt and sugar in a well-clean saucepan—heat on medium and stirring frequently until the rice is thick and creamy, around 15 minutes.
